The Westminster Village Foundation and Assistance Funds (Foundation) is an Arizona not for profit corporation that raises funds to be used for the benefit of Westminster Village, Inc. (Village), its residents, and its employees. The Foundation from time to time conducts fund-raising drives and solicitations but, in recognition of the fact that the Village itself likewise may seek to raise funds for broad corporate purposes, the Foundation's efforts are directed to Village residents and their families.

The Foundation is comprised of a number of individual Funds, which accumulate monies contributed for a variety of purposes designated by donors and approved by the Foundation. Principal among these are the following:

Residents who, as a result of circumstances beyond their control, find that they have exhausted their financial resources may apply for financial aid from this Fund.  Awards are based on a standard financial assistance application form submitted to the Foundation by a resident or representative of a resident.  Identities of applicants and award recipients are kept in strict confidence.

This Fund assists qualified employees of Westminster Village, Inc. in partial payment of tuition and other expenses incurred at educational institutions attended by the employee.  Awards are paid directly to the institutions involved.

This Fund accumulates contributions made by residents for purposes involving capital improvements or acquisitions.  In past years this Fund has been used to support projects such as installing electronic access gates and doors to our community, installing a shower room for the Special Care unit of the Weyrich Health Center, and various landscaping improvements. Other funds may be established from time to time for other purposes as donors may wish and the Foundation may approve.

Donations from residents which carry no designation for particular purposes are credited to the Undesignated Monies Fund to be used as determined by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.

Residents and others seeking to make donations to the Foundation have the opportunity to do this in a variety of ways. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. For example:

Cash: Writing a check to the Foundation is probably the easiest way to make a contribution.

Property: Gifts of personal property, such as an automobile, are acceptable to the Foundation.  Contributions of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds can be made with possibly favorable tax consequence for you, the donor.  In addition to being credited for a charitable contribution for income tax purposes you may avoid capital gains tax on qualified assets.

Legacy: Gifts included in your will or living trust can enable you to continue to enjoy the asset during your lifetime, and benefit the Foundation upon your death.

Charitable Gift Annuity: The Foundation has a special program for the sale of charitable gift annuities.  The purchaser of such an annuity enjoys a return on the annuity significantly greater than that provided from other investments.  Upon death of the annuitant, the remainder then is available to the Foundation.

Governor’s Club: Residents may make periodic payments to the Foundation by joining the Governor’s Club and adding their donation to their monthly maintenance fee statement.

In Loving Memory: All gifts to the Foundation, in whatever form, may be made in memory or in honor of a special friend or loved one.
